Make yourself at home

Another quick update this time for Butch, now named "Milo" who found his new home and family living in Flintshire. I think he has made himself at home and settled in very well in such a short space of time, in fact i know he has.

Thank you for the update and please keep them coming!

Just a quick update here to let you know that 3 of our puppies have now moved onto their new homes, Magic who has stayed in the North east, Henry who has moved up to Scotland, and Butch who is now living in Wales are now happily keeping their new owners very busy with their playfulness and antics.

We have one girl "Tilly" going to her new home in early september and we have another girl Bubbles that is keeping her busy while waiting on her new owners.

As it is, in the UK the Cavapoo or Cavoodle or even the Cavadoodle is a relatively new breed and lots of people are yet to learn about their nature and lovingness, hence the reason for starting this blog.

The Cavapoo carries hybrid vigour from the 1st generation mating between the cavalier king charles spaniel and the miniature poodle meaning that along with other benefits the puppies are hypoallergenic and are ideal pets for allergy sufferers. Along with being absolutely beautiful loveing dogs.

Another couple of pictures taken just the other day.

Welcome to our world

This blog will follow the lives of a litter of Cavapoo - Cavoodle puppies that have been born and bred in our home in the north east of England, all the way from day one, right up to the puppies leaving us for their new ever loving homes and hopefully beyond as they find themselves embarking upon a life of love cuddles and escapades.

Our litter of Cavapoo puppies came about after a friend requested that we produced a litter of puppies with hypoallegenic properties due to allergies within the household for one of the children. We must stress at this point that we have owned and bred Cavalier king charles spaniels for over 15 years now so producing a litter of Cavapoo's is also new to us, hence the fact that we have started this blog in order to be able to follow the progress of the pups all the way through to adulthood.

The Cavapoo (also known as Cavoodle in the USA) is a first generation mating between a Cavalier king charles spaniel dam and a miniature poodle sire. The mother in this case was Rose, our beautiful solid ruby girl. The father was Coco a gorgeous solid chocolate poodle with absolutely the best temperament we have ever encountered in a stud dog "a real gentleman with his ladies" Both parents are fully KC registered and all current health tests up to date.

On the 2nd of july 2010 Rose gave birth to a stunning litter of 2 boys and 3 girls with no complications at all *thankfully* All but one of the girls were pure black & tan, the other little girl is a pure solid black (my favourite) the girls were temporarily named Bubbles, Tilly and Magic. The boys were named Butch and Henry.

As you will probably be aware the first few weeks of a puppies life entails nothing but sleeping and eating and then sleeping some more, making it rather difficult to get some good pictures, however we persevered and got lots. Here are a couple more...

How sweet

I am going to fast forward a few weeks now and show you a very cute picture followed by an even better pose.

The picture above is of a cavapoo puppy at around 6 months of age, as you can see the hind and front quarters are starting to really curl at this age with only the mid section still to develop, a dog does not get its full and proper coat until roughly 18-24 months. Hopefully with the help of the new owners we should be able to compare the standard of our puppies to the one pictured above with regards the coat curl.

Our puppies are now approaching 6 weeks of age and i will pop back here on a regular basis so to bring the blog up to date. At the moment weaning is almost complete and the mother is only giving the tiniest amounts of milk to them. We have lots more pictures to add to this blog and like i said lots more to come over the period of the dog's lives from the new owners. Currently all but 1 puppy has a new home, but that could change in an instant and we will let you know once she is claimed.
